Barbara Jean (Horrell) Engelen

Barbara Jean Engelen, 67, of Leopold, passed away on September 7, 2026, at the Stonebridge Senior Living Facility. She was born on July 5, 1959, to the late Leo and Ann (Wubker) Horrell. Barb was a 1977 Leopold High School Graduate.

She loved growing flowers and taking time to admire their beauty. She especially enjoyed watching the hummingbirds as they visited her flowers and spending quiet moments sitting on her front porch, listening to and watching the rain. Above all, Barb adored her grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. Her grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, and the memories they made together will be treasured always.

She is survived by her children: Lariedon Engelen, Garan Engelen and Lainey Wells; siblings: Aaron Horrell, Dennis Horrell, Joseph Horrell, Bernice Springer, Judy Sander, Shirley Schott, Gladys Hency; grandchildren: Sami Engelen, Landon Wells, James Engelen, Riley Engelen, Zach Wells, Leah Engelen, Annissa Engelen, Devin Wells and Emma Engelen; great grandchildren: Mark Hagler, Miley Wells and Malachi Hagler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Norman Horrell and Teri Ruch.

Pallbearers will be Landon Wells, Riley Engelen, James Engelen, Zach Wells, Devin Wells, and Mat Hagler.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Pendergrass Funeral Home in Marble Hill, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

Friends and Family gather from 8:00 to 9:00 am on Friday, September 11, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Glennon for a small visitation. Graveside Funeral Service will begin at 9:00 am, with Bro. Jerry Stevens officiating and Rhonda Massa singing.
