George Buehler Obituary

George Russell Buehler, 88, of Glen Allen, passed away on September 12, 2026, at his home. He was born on December 4, 1937, in Glen Allen, to the late Utah and Lola (Page) Buehler. George was a 1956 graduate of Woodland High School. After graduation, George joined the United States Army becoming a Paratrooper. George served his country with both, the 82nd Airborne and the 101st Airborne divisions. He also served a tour of duty on the DMZ in Korea, prior to his honorable discharge in 1957. He worked for a couple years locally before beginning his journey in 1959 with the Sante Fe Railroad, in Argentine, Kansas. George worked for the next 42 years with the Sante Fe Railway, after the merger of the Sante Fe and Burlington Northern, he transferred to Chaffee, Missouri where he retired in 2001, from the BNSF Railway.

Mr. Buehler loved to tinker. He grew a garden, hunted and fished.  He enjoyed his antiques, following several local auctioneers to collect the next treasure. George also traveled with Crader Distributing, installing store displays.

Above all hobbies, jobs and interests, George Buehler was a professional conversationalist. He was the kindest soul, always there as an advocate for anyone around. George was loyal to the bone and true to his “circle” of people. He could be found on countless days at local restaurants sharing wisdom with all of his friends.
