Kathleen T. (Huffman) Douglas

Kathleen T. Douglas, 91, of St. Louis, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, at the Hospice House in St. Louis. She was born on September 24, 1934, in Whitewater, Missouri, to the late Lee and Ida May (Barks) Huffman. Kathleen spent the last 74 years of her life making her home in St. Louis.

Kathleen and Charles L. Douglas were united in marriage in August of 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to St. Louis for work, where they remained and raised their family together. Charles preceded her in death on May 27, 1985.

Kathleen worked for several years as a machine operator at a local factory before retiring. She enjoyed shopping and watching MSNBC news on television. While she enjoyed these simple pleasures, her greatest joy in life was her family.

After retirement, Kathleen was blessed with the opportunity to help raise two of her great-grandchildren, Savannah and Edgar “EJ.” She cherished her role as their great-grandmother and devoted herself wholeheartedly to caring for them. For the last several years of her life, being a great-grandmother was her most cherished “job.” Kathleen loved spoiling Savannah and EJ, along with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in being there for them, loving them, and watching them grow.

She is survived by her daughters: Kathy (Rick) Liston, Sandy Carter and Donna (Gary) Evans; her twin sister: Alleen Garland; grandchildren: Kari, Kacie, Tommie Jr., Christie, Tom, Kati, Noah and Joe; several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Charles; her son: Mike Douglas; daughter: Karen Douglas; grandson: Josh Green; siblings: Lawrence, Lucille, Lloyd, Loren, Ruby, Alma, Ray, and Ralph.

Pallbearers will be Tom Carter, Tommie Carter Jr., Noah Holt, Dania Carter, Kacie Huff, Kati Jackson.

Services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Pendergrass Funeral Home in Marble Hill. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Gary Evans and Rick Liston speaking. Burial will follow at the Pulliam Cemetery near Scopus.
