Zoda Mae (Abernathy) Dockins

Zoda Mae Dockins, 89, of Oran, passed away peacefully at her home on August 1, 2026. She was born in Stoddard County, Missouri, to the late Arthur and Vevlean (Clary) Abernathy on June 19, 1937.

Zoda Mae married Junior Dockins on February 12, 1955, and spent the next 66 years together raising a family and running the family business together until his passing in 2021. She worked as the secretary for Dockins Plumbing and Heating from 1969 until retiring. She loved to spending time in the garden and tending her flowers. She was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother.

She is survived by her son: Eddie (Raeann) Dockins; daughters: Gayle Bollinger, Beverly (David) Scherer, Sherry (John) Youngblood; grandchildren: Melissa Douglas, Lee Scherer, Mackenzie Scherer, Jessica Ballard, Ashleigh Callow and David Callow; siblings: Kenneth, Dorothy and Barbara. She was preceded in death by her husband Junior; son: Milton Junior Dockins; siblings Junior and Francis.

The Pendergrass Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bell City, MO.
